Services were held Oct. 27, 2021, at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home in Jefferson for Rochelle “Chellie” Schaffer, 59, of Grand Junction.
Bruce Webster, pastor of Church of Christ in Jefferson, offered words of comfort.
Casket bearers were family and friends. Interment was at Franklin Township Cemetery at Cooper.
Rochelle Anne “Chellie” Schaffer was born April 13, 1962, in Perry. She was the daughter of Joyce (Collins) and William Edward Davis, Sr. Chellie’s early years were lived on the farm near Jamaica in rural Greene County.
During her school years, she played softball and basketball. Chellie lived with her mother in Perry and then in Missouri. When Chellie moved to Phoenix, AZ, she met and married Keith Schaffer. Chellie and Keith moved to Iowa around 1998. They made their home in Grand Junction.
Rochelle was a member of Genesis Development and was affectionately described as a big-hearted person. She liked to bake cakes and pies. She enjoyed watching birds, especially owls.
Rochelle Schaffer passed away at the Greene County Medical Center on Oct. 18, 2021. She was 59 years of age. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Keith Schaffer of Grand Junction; brother William Edward “Bill” Davis Jr of Jefferson; nephew William Edward “Billy” Davis III of Jefferson; other relatives and friends.
